Huntsville is booming! When Huntsville grows, our homeless population will grow. We have many organizations and individuals loving on our homeless communities already, we just need to amplify that. Our homeless friends have little to no hope in exiting homelessness because we have a gap in affordable housing. Community of Hope is excited as we have an answer to addressing the gap found for our homeless friends. We continue our efforts with relentless determination to fund a land purchase to build a residential master-planned community where our friends can find a place to call home, work opportunities, and community. Join our human-to-human, heart-to-heart relational movement where lasting change happens. It all starts with land.
MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR BECKY and Become a PIECE of the solution!
We ask that you become a piece of the solution by financially contributing to our capital campaign. Our Driven by Hope campaign will continue our endeavors to purchase land and provide real hope for housing.
This September, we continue that fight by launching our Driven by Hope, capital campaign. Join us in fighting for our friends to find a community where they can be wholly known and wholly loved. Where housing is first and affordability is achievable.
Together, we can bring our homeless home.
We ask that you join us in our Driven By Hope campaign to fund a land purchase and provide real hope for housing for Becky and the hundreds of other Homeless Friends in Huntsville.
Why? Like many cities across the country, Huntsville is throwing countless dollars at short-term solutions for addressing homelessness. We have over 100 groups that support our homeless in basic needs and short-term programs. Community of Hope (COH) exists because there is a very small percentage of affordable housing opportunities for our friends to successfully exit homelessness. COH is driven by filling the gap found in affordable housing for our chronic homeless friends. We are embarking on and embracing a community challenge that is unique to the state of Alabama in providing permanent supportive housing. As the only non-profit addressing the housing gap by building permanent supportive housing for chronic homeless, the efforts are tremendous. COH is unique to Madison County and the state of Alabama. COH however is not unique to the nation and is replicating a proven and successful model out of Austin, TX called Community! First Village. This creates an exciting platform for Huntsville as in the future we will share our initiative-taking measures taken to create pathways to hopeful futures instead of pathways to dead ends resulting in chronic homelessness.
Huntsville’s homeless population is rising year over year, with most homeless people experiencing long term-homelessness. Community of Hope addresses permanent, supportive, affordable housing gaps by providing residential, education, and workforce development programs for our chronic homeless population.
We are working to protect our gorgeous city from becoming the next big city with a major homeless crisis. Watch our fly-through video of the future campus of Community of Hope.
